Dr. Nishant Verma completed M.B,B.S. from Maulana Azad Medical College and MD Microbiology from Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi, India. His major area of work is in Medical Parasitology and Hospital Infection Control at AIIMS, New Delhi. He is the Faculty In-charge of Anaerobic, Special Bacterial Pathogens laboratory (SBPL) and Metagenomics laboratories.
He is associated with several funded research projects as principal investigator/co-investigator and has authored many scientific publications. In addition, he is involved in academic, diagnostic and various administrative duties. Also, he is an executive council member of Indian Academy of Tropical Parasitology and Assistant editor for the journal ‘Tropical Parasitology’.

- Leishmaniasis, Trypanosomiasis, infections due to free living amoebae

Dr.Hitender Gautam has completed his M.B.B.S. from University College of Medical Sciences (U.C.M.S.) & G.T.B. Hospital in 2003. He has completed his M.D. in 2008 and Senior Residency in 2011 from Maulana Azad Medical College (M.A.M.C.). He joined the institute as Assistant Professor in June 2014.

His areas of interest include congenital viral infections (HCMV), viral hepatitis (HBV, HCV, HEV, HAV, etc.), infections in SOT/HSCT recipients (HCMV, EBV, etc.), viral STI’s (HPV, Human adenoviruses, HSV 1&2, etc.), viral haemorrhagic fevers (Dengue fever), cell culture, and molecular virology.
