Since its inception, has been an integral part of the academic program of the institute. The department Laboratory Oncology Unit imparts specialized training in Hemato-Oncopathology to DM students of the Department of Medical Oncology and Department of Haematology. Medical students pursuing MD in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine are posted in Laboratory Oncology Unit for specialized training as part of their study curriculum.
Combined clinicopathological discussions are regularly held with departments of Medical Oncology, Paediatrics, and Medicine to discuss diagnostically challenging cases.
Short-term training of up to 3 months duration in Hemato-Oncopathology is provided to students and faculty from various medical institutions across the country.
