Recent Employment Details (Past few years):

  • Assistant Professor - Biophysics - 29/06/2012 to 30/06/2015 at Department of Biophysics, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi
  • Associate Professor – Biophysics - 01/07/2015 to 30/06/2018 at Department of Biophysics, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi
  • Additional Professor – Biophysics - 01/07/2018 to Till Date at Department of Biophysics, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi

Brief Research Area:

  • Current pharmacological interventions in Parkinson’s disease and schizophrenia aim to restore normal dopamine levels, overshooting of which results in adverse effects. We have identified potential biomarkers that can monitor pharmaco-efficacy in the two diseases. We are currently looking to take a step further by developing CHIP based monitoring kits to monitor therapy in the two disease states.
  • We have previously structurally characterized group III PLA2s from Humans, scorpions, and Clorenchis sinensis. We are currently looking structurally characterize PAF-AH enzyme, a PLA2 family analog, that is implicated in certain protozoal infections. The detailed characterization will pave the way for design of specific and potent inhibitory molecules against these drug targets.
