The immunology section of this department is currently working on

• Immunophenotyping of NK Cells, Dendritic cells, Monocytes/Macrophages, B cells, CD8+ T cells, CD4+ T cells subsets (Th1, Th2, Tregs, Th17)
• Intracellular Cytokine assays (TNF-a, IL-6, IFN-g, IL-2, IL-10, IL-17, etc)
• Serum Cytokine assays (IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, TNF, IFN-g, IL-17A)
• Phagocytosis and Respiratory burst assays

Techniques Employed.

• PBMC Isolation and Cryopreservation
• Cytometric Bead Array
• Cellular immunostaining techniques with monoclonal antibodies
• Immune cell culture
• FACS LSR 2 flow cytometer (Becton Dickinson, USA): 6 colour (standardised)
• Western Blotting; ELISA etc.
