PERSONAL STATEMENT:
Given the high burden of Diabetes in India, I developed interest and took Diabetes as my research field, with special interest in Diabetes and pregnancy. Sub-areas of research in which I am interested are spousal association of diabetes, family lifestyle intervention trials and establishment of family cohort in women with hyperglycaemia in pregnancy, to understand the natural history and family influences on cardiovascular risk factors in long term. To pursue this interest, and to improve care for these women, I established gestational diabetes mellitus clinic in 2017.
CONTRIBUTIONS TO SCIENCE:
My research career after my training, spans for 10 years. In last 7 years after joining AIIMS, I consolidated my expertise to undertake high quality research of international standard and has been principal investigator of 6 government funded studies.

- RSSDI Novartis Young Investigator Award (2020) given by Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India
- Anil R Sheth Young Investigator Award (2020) in the field of Clinical Endocrinology given by Endocrine Society of India
- AIIMS Excellence Research Award 2019 (awarded in 2020) for Clinical Category
- Best DM student in Endocrinology (AIIMS) for year 2012. Dr. MMS Ahuja award.
